After a tough loss Thursday night to No. 12 Purdue, Indiana volleyball had a few days to regroup — and they made every one of them count. Back inside Wilkinson Hall on Sunday afternoon, the Hoosiers shook off their two-match skid and powered past Ohio State in a gritty 3–1 victory (25–22, 18–25, 25–22, 25–16).
Fueled by the energy of their home crowd, Indiana’s offense found its rhythm early and never looked back. Freshman phenom Jaidyn Jager once again led the charge, recording 16 kills — her fifth match this season with at least 15. Three of those have come against Big Ten opponents, further proving her ability to rise to the moment.
Senior opposite Avry Tatum delivered a milestone performance of her own, notching 10 kills to surpass 1,000 career kills in her 100th collegiate match. It was a storybook moment for one of Indiana’s steady leaders. Fellow senior Madi Sell, returning to the starting lineup, made her presence felt with eight kills and an impressive .462 hitting percentage, anchoring the Hoosiers’ attack at the net.
Indiana continues to build confidence and cohesion each time it takes the floor. Madi Sell added three blocks to her eight kills, providing a strong defensive presence at the net. Jager once again showcased her all-around game adding seven digs and three aces. The fearless freshman has quickly become a spark plug for this Hoosier squad, diving after every ball and playing with an edge well beyond her years.
Freshman libero Audrey Jackson also stood tall on the back line, recording a team-high 13 digs and keeping the Buckeyes’ offense in check with steady, composed play throughout the match.
For the first time in weeks, Indiana will stay home in Bloomington — and they’ll need every bit of rest and preparation they can get. The No. 22 Hoosiers are set to host No. 18 Minnesota on Friday (Oct. 24) at 6 p.m. ET in Wilkinson Hall, marking their fourth showdown this season against a ranked opponent. Fans can catch the action in person or tune in live on Big Ten Network as Indiana looks to keep its momentum rolling.
