It didn’t take long for 2024 Indiana Miss Basketball Chloe Spreen to find her way back home. After playing her freshman year at Alabama, Spreen entered the portal and was quick to commit to Coach Teri Moren and the Hoosiers. The 5-foot-10 guard saw the floor in 20 games for an average of 6.5 minutes, according to IUHoosiers.com. She recorded 5 points and 2 rebounds in Alabama’s win over Georgia State.
Spreen committed to Alabama as a 4-star recruit and had a decorated high school career at Bedford North Lawrence where she scored 1,869 points and earned first team All-Hoosier Hills Conference selection all four years.
“It was a great experience for a year,” Spreen told Austin Render in a recent interview, “I just knew that I wanted to come back home and play in front of my family and friends again.”
“Leaving the state and realizing how much Indiana basketball means” Spreen explained, “growing up and playing in Bedford, how much they support women’s basketball, I miss that and wanted to be back here.”
The Bedford native has the opportunity to compete for minutes off the bench in front of her family and friends this season.
“The staff and the culture here is something I feel like is very unique and I’m very excited to be a part of it this year,” Spreen said.
The Hoosiers open the regular season vs Lipscomb at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on November 4th.
