The Indiana Hoosiers football season is closing in. Today we take a look at redshirt senior safety Bryson Bonds.
COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: Day 24 Bryson Bonds
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 202 pounds
Hometown: Fort Worth, Texas
Class/Position: Redshirt Senior / Defensive Back

Bonds is one of the few remaining COVID year players in college football and he enters his sixth season with the Hoosiers having played in 47 games. The Texan came to IU with big expectations and played in eight games as a true freshman. However, his development never really took off the way people expected.
In 2021 Bonds played in just three games and used his redshirt year. He took a small step forward in 2022 playing in all 12 of IU’s games and making 14 tackles. However, 2023 was a step back as Bonds played in 11 games and made just four tackles.
Under a new coaching staff Bonds started to tap into the potential he had when he was recruited to IU. He played in all of IU’s 13 games as a key reserve. He made 19 tackles and had his first career interception.
Bonds is back for his sixth year and will add veteran depth to the IU defensive backfield. The Hoosiers defense can be that much better if he can continue his development into a leader on the second team defense.
