The Indiana Hoosiers were ranked 19th nationally in the preseason AFCA Coaches Poll that was published on Monday. The AP Poll is set to release next week.

The Hoosiers will enter the season ranked for the first time since 2021.

There are six Big Ten teams in the Top 25, including two of the top three with Ohio State (2) and Penn State (3). Indiana’s week seven opponent Oregon checks in at seven and week four opponent Illinois is 12th. Michigan finds their way back into the polls at 14th.

Five Big Ten teams sit just outside the Top 25 and were receiving votes including Iowa.

The value of preseason polls when it comes to the College Football Playoff has come under fire.

While people criticize the Hoosiers non-conference scheduling, IU plays the number 3, 7, 12 and Iowa who is just outside the top 25.
