Despite joining Indiana as a walk-on in the class of 2025, Maverick Geske arrives in Bloomington with the résumé of a player ready to make waves. At Brebeuf Jesuit, Geske wasn’t just a standout—he was a record-shattering force under center. He finished his high school career as a finalist for Indiana Mr. Football, a two-time First-Team All-Circle City Conference selection, and earned back-to-back Indiana Football Coaches Association All-State honors.

Statistically, he rewrote the school’s record books: 8,904 career passing yards, 114 total touchdowns, 4,039 passing yards in a single season, and back-to-back seasons with 40 touchdowns. And his talent wasn’t limited to the gridiron—Geske also starred on the diamond, helping lead BJHS to an Indiana 3A State Championship runner-up finish as a pitcher during his junior year.

The future of Indiana’s quarterback room is shaping up to be a competitive battleground, with Maverick Geske and fellow freshman Jacob Bell stepping into the mix alongside redshirt freshman Alberto Mendoza. While standout Tyler Cherry remains sidelined this season due to injury, the door is open for the young guns to learn, grow, and push each other. For Maverick, 2025 will be a developmental year—one where he can soak up knowledge from those ahead of him while sharpening the tools that made him a high school star.

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff continues with Day 54 tomorrow!
