Nicolas Radicic lived up to the billing in his first year as the main place kicker for the Hoosiers. He earned an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection after setting the school record for most extra points in a season (69). The Hoosiers did not kick many field goals in 2024, but when they did, Radicic was almost automatic. He nailed 10-of-11 attempts with a long of 41 yards. He came up big in the clutch with a late field goal to extend the lead against Michigan.

Radicic disclosed during spring practice that he came into the 2024 season off an injury.

“I had surgery last year in January, so it was really hard coming back. I wanted to just work on getting consistent inside of that 45, but to get back to your question, I’ve got to put up games like the Michigan game. Earn their trust at short field, so when it comes to hitting a big kick, they know I have the confidence to make it.” He told reporters this spring.

Radicic is back to handle the place kicking duties in 2025. He earned the trust of the coaching staff in big spots. There is not much to nitpick and the goal is to score touchdowns and not kick field goals. However, the Hoosiers have a great field goal kicker ready for whenever he is called upon whether it’s for an extra point or a field goal.

Radicic spent the spring focusing on consistency and the mental aspect of kicking.

“It’s the mental aspect.” He said. “I tell everyone that kicking is 70% mental, you can be the strongest guy on the field, the strongest leg, the biggest leg if you don’t have it in the six inches between your ears, you won’t be able to make kicks.”
