Report: Indiana Quarterback Tayven Jackson Enters the Transfer Portal

Indiana quarterback Tayven Jackson has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, having started one game for the Hoosiers this season. A redshirt sophomore, he previously played at Tennessee. Jackson threw for 1,263 yards with six touchdowns during his time at Indiana and was expected to compete for the starting position in 2025.

According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, Indiana quarterback Tayven Jackson has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. Jackson was a redshirt sophomore this season and started one game for the Hoosiers.

Jackson started his college career at Tennessee before transferring to IU in 2023. Jackson played in 13 games for the Hoosiers and threw for 1,263 yards with six touchdowns and six interceptions.

Jackson was expected to compete for the starting position in 2025 after being the backup behind Kurtis Rourke. The Hoosiers currently have two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster with freshmen Tyler Cherry and Alberto Mendoza. The Hoosiers are expected to go after a quarterback this portal cycle.
