The Indiana Hoosiers bolstered their kicking depth on Sunday as former Texas State kicker Brendan Franke committed to IU from the transfer portal. The Hoosiers had injury issues with their kickoff specialists in 2024 as their first two choices got hurt in the first month of the year. Franke will give IU another choice along with Quinn Warren in 2025.

Franke began his college career at Nebraska before transferring to Georgia Southern and Texas State. In his two seasons at Nebraska Franke had 74 touchbacks on 116 kickoffs. He played in just four games at Georgia Southern and had nine touchbacks on 17 kickoffs. This season with the Texas State Bobcats, Franke played in all 12 games and had 64 touchbacks on 78 kickoffs. In his career he has had only one kick go out of bounds.
