Indiana is Ranked Fifth in the Third College Football Playoff Rankings Release

The Indiana Hoosiers, with a record of 10-0 (7-0), are currently ranked 5th in the College Football Playoff rankings. Despite this ranking, they would be the 7th seed if the playoffs started today. The Hoosiers have two upcoming games, including a matchup against No. 2 Ohio State.

The Indiana Hoosiers 10-0 (7-0) enjoyed a bye week last week and had a chance to see where things fell from the comfort of the couch. On Tuesday night, the Hoosiers were ranked 5th in the third edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. IU was ranked 5th by the AP and 5th in the Coaches Polls on Sunday.

While the Hoosiers are ranked 5th, IU would be the 7th seed if the CFP started tomorrow.

The seeds for the initial CFP rankings are as follows:

1. Oregon

2. Texas

3. Miami (FL)

4. Boise State

5. Ohio State

6. Penn State

7. Indiana

8. Notre Dame

9. Alabama

10. Ole Miss

11. Georgia

12. BYU

The Hoosiers have two weeks left in the regular season. The remaining two games are a road trip to No. 2 Ohio State and a home date with Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket.
