Hoosiers Come in Ranked 5th in the College Football Playoff After Moving to 10-0

The Indiana Hoosiers improved to a 10-0 record after defeating Michigan 20-15. They are ranked 5th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, though they would be seeded 7th if the playoffs began today. The Hoosiers have two games remaining in the regular season against Ohio State and Purdue.

The Indiana Hoosiers moved to 10-0 (7-0) after knocking off Michigan 20-15 last Saturday. On Tuesday night, the Hoosiers were ranked 5th in the second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. IU was ranked 5th by the AP and 6th in the Coaches Polls on Sunday.

While the Hoosiers are ranked 5th, IU would be the 7th seed if the CFP started tomorrow.

The seeds for the initial CFP rankings are as follows:

1. Oregon

2. Texas

3. BYU

4. Miami (FL)

5. Ohio State

6. Penn State

7. Indiana

8. Tennessee

9. Notre Dame

10. Alabama

11. Ole Miss

12. Boise State

The Hoosiers have three weeks left in the regular season including a bye week this week. The remaining two games are a road trip to No. 2 Ohio State and a home date with Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket.
