IU Adds ESPN 4-Star Jah Jah Boyd to 2024 Class

Athletic 4-star prospect Jah Jah Boyd has recommitted to Indiana under head coach Curt Cignetti, having initially pledged to him at James Madison. Boyd, a 5’10” standout from Pennsylvania, played safety and wide receiver in high school. He is expected to play defense at Indiana, joining several former James Madison recruits.

Curt Cignetti and his coaching staff received a commitment from athletic 4-star prospect Jah Jah Boyd once before and on Monday, they did so again. Boyd, a 5’10” electric playmaker from Pennsylvania, committed to Cignetti while he was the head coach at James Madison and then decommitted when Cignetti left for Bloomington. After taking official visits to Indiana and Pittsburgh, Boyd committed to Cignetti once again.

Boyd played for Roman Catholic High School in Pennsylvania and had offers from several big schools, ultimately locking in on Pitt and IU as finalists. He played safety and wide receiver in high school and was recruited to James Madison as a two-way player. Indiana’s plan for Boyd is not quite known but based on comments made after his official visit, it appears he will be playing defense.

“Really good experience at Indiana,” Boyd said. “I feel like the continuity of the staff from JMU being the same guys who recruited me is good since we already have that relationship. The facilities are nice, the Big Ten is probably the best level of ball you can play. I also like the small-town vibes out there too.”

Boyd joins Dontrae Henderson, Mario Landino, Alberto Mendoza and Daniel Ndukwe as former James Madison commits to flip to Indiana after the coaching change. Hoosier Huddle will have much more recruiting news as Curt Cignetti builds the 2024 roster.
