BOOM! Hoosiers Land Texas Defensive End Alfred “Lance” Bryant

What better way to start of the July Fourth holiday than with a Boom from the IU recruiting cannon. On Saturday night Matt Weaver of Peegs.com broke the news that three-star defensive end Alfred “Lance” Bryant has committed to play for the Hoosiers. Bryant, a 6’1.5″ and 236-pound defensive end from Manvel, Texas is rated as the 55th best weak-side defensive end in the nation. He is quick off the ball and could give the Hoosiers the edge rusher that they need. He is the seventh commit in the Hoosiers’ 2017 class. That class is now at 11 in the Big Ten after falling to last over the past couple of weeks, 

Bryant had 18 total offers and chose Indiana over Arkansas, California, Colorado, and Illinois among others. He would be a candidate to dress and play early in his Hoosier career. In his junior campaign he totaled 60 tackles, a mind-boggling 20 tackles for a loss, and sacked the quarterback 12 times. He has a non-stop motor and a knack for being a force in the opponent’s back field. He was recruited to IU by defensive line coach Mark Hagan and secondary coach Noah Joseph.
