Seven Hoosiers Get All-Big Ten Honors

On Monday night the Big Ten announced its all-conference teams for the 2013.  Seven Hoosier players made the list.

Cody Latimer WR, Junior, 2nd team All-Big Ten (Media), Honorable Mention (Coaches)- Latimer became just the fifth Hoosier receiver to ever break the 1,000-yard mark receiving with 1,096 yards on 72 receptions and 9 touchdowns.  He also played a big role on the Indiana kick-off team and recovered a crucial fumble in their win over Penn State.  Latimer has 135 receptions for 2,042 yards and 17 touchdowns for his career at Indiana.

Mitch Ewald K, Senior, 2nd team All-Big Ten (Coaches), Honorable Mention (Media)- Ewald was only 9 of 11 on field goals on the year, mainly because IU just did not settle for three all that often, and was a perfect on all 56 of his extra points.  The senior kicker accounted for 83 points and led one of the better kick-off teams in the country.  Ewald leaves Bloomington as the career leader in field goals (53), extra points (159), and second on the Hoosiers all-time scoring list (320) trailing only Anthony Thompson.

Ted Bolser TE, Senior, Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (Media and Coaches)- The senior tight end was named as a John Mackey Award semi-finalist and finished the 2013 season with 35 receptions for 320 yards and a career high six touchdowns.  Bolser finished his career for the Hoosiers with 117 receptions for 1337 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Tevin Coleman RB, Sophomore, Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (Media and Coaches)- Coleman rushed for 958 yards and 12 touchdowns in nine games this season.  He fell short of becoming the first Hoosier runner to crack the 1,000-yard mark since 2001 due to an ankle injury that kept him out the final three games.  Coleman also accounted for 1,275 all-purpose yards.

Tim Bennett CB, Junior, Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (Media)- The Hoosier corner was fourth on the team in total tackles with 73 including 3.5 for a loss.  Bennett recorded 20 pass break-ups, one interception, and one fumble recovery.  Bennett was arguably the best cover corner for a struggling Hoosier defense.

Jason Spriggs OT, Sophomore, Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (Media and Coaches)- Spriggs was a mainstay, starting all 12 games, on a very banged up Hoosier offensive line.  He helped pave the way for a Hoosier offense that ran for 2,422 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Colin Rahrig, C, Junior, Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (Media)- Rahrig anchored the Hoosier line at center.  He started 10 of 12 games this season for a line that gave up only 20 sacks and rushed for over 2,000 yards.
