There are now 75 days remaining until the Indiana Hoosiers kick-off the 2016 season in Miami against the Florida International Golden Panthers. Join us each day for each part of our 100-day countdown to the opener! Currently no player is assigned to number 75, so we will be profiling incoming freshman Grayson Stover who will actually be wearing 56 in the fall.
Grayson Stover @gstover56 (Incoming Freshman)
-Height: 6’6”
-Weight: 300 pounds
-Hometown: Hudson, Florida
-Position: Offensive Tackle
Indiana’s offensive line coach Greg Frey has created a new standard at Indiana with his work with the offensive line. Both Frey and head coach Kevin Wilson have emphasized being strong in the trenches. Last year, their hard work paid off with two All-American offensive linemen. However, in college football you have to reload quickly or there may be a lull. Indiana may have found their next tackle in incoming freshman Grayson Stover. At 6’6” and 300 pounds, Stover already has the frame of a Big Ten lineman. He was committed to Virginia and South Florida before settling on Indiana.
Stover, out of Hudson, Florida, comes to IU as a three-star prospect and will likely redshirt his freshman season due to the depth the Hoosiers have in 2016. However he could be thrust into action in 2017 after current tackle Dimitric Camiel graduates. In his senior year, Stover led an offensive line that produced two 1,000-yard rushers for his school. Despite his size, Stover has great foot speed and athletic ability that will help Coach Greg Frey train him to be an excellent offensive lineman. For IU fans, Grayson Stover is a name to remember.
