BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana redshirt sophomore Griffin Oakes earned Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday. It is the second recognition of his career (Sept. 29, 2014).

Read MoreIndiana has the top offense in the conference after the first four weeks of the season, and the accolades are starting to pile up. The most recent is for Indiana wide receiver Ricky Jones, who was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Tuesday.
Jones is the Hoosiers leading receiver with 18 catches for 411 yards and three touchdowns. He is averaging 22.8 yards per catch and 102.8 yards per game. He set career highs in the season opener against Southern Illinois with six catches for 186 yards and a touchdown.

The NFF will announce 15 finalists on Oct. 29, and each of them will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class, presented by Fidelity Investments.

Jonathan Crawford earned co-Freshman of the Week honors.

Over the first three games of his brief career at IU, safety Jonathan Crawford has already has made a major impact in the Hoosier secondary. This week he war rewarded for his two interception, four tackle performance in IU's 38-35 win over WKU by being named the Big Ten's Co-Freshman of the Week.
Crawford is the first Hoosier to win this honor since linebacker Tegray Scales won it last year after his performance in IU's upset win at Missouri. He is also the first true freshman since Mitchell Evans to record two interceptions in a game. On the season Crawford is third on the team in tackles (18) and first in interceptions (2).
Indiana quarterback Nate Sudfeld was one of thirty NCAA FBS football players to be named a candidate for the Senior Class Award for his outstanding work on and off the field. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I FBS senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

He has also worked extensively with the Boys & Girls Club, Read Across America, and the Andrew Luck/IU Health Change the Play Program during his time in Bloomington.

On Tuesday morning Dan Feeney was named to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List. In order to be eligible for the Rotary Lombardi Award a player has to be a down linemen, end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage. The candidates earned a place on the preliminary Watch List by earning All-American honors, being named to their respective all-conference teams or receiving 2015 preseason honors.
